The Allegheny Mountain Chapter will be having it’s monthly meeting on Wednesday March 14, 2012 at the DuBois YMCA at 7:00 pm.
Bill Anderson from the Little Juanita River Association will be giving a presentation on Trout Populations and changes on the river. This is of interest to anyone who enjoys fishing the “Little J”. Everyone is welcome.

The next board meeting is on March 7, 2012 at the First Christian Church in Big Run CORRECTION LOCATION IS DUBOIS NURSING HOME IN DUBOIS, starting at 7:00 pm.
A board meeting is also scheduled for March 28, 2012 at the DuBois Nursing Home in DuBois starting at 7:00 pm to prepare for the Annual Banquet.

Attention fly fishermen and women: How would you like to learn some different fly patterns or how to use that tying tool? The Allegheny Mountain Chapter of Trout Unlimited will be hosting it’s annual Fly Tying Roundtable 7 pm on Wednesday February 8, 2012 at the DuBois YMCA on Parkway Drive. We will have several expert tyers on hand demonstrating various techniques. Everyone is welcome and there is no charge.

We aimed at the wrong target. . .
While many folks wrote to their legislators to oppose any Governor Corbett plans to force DCNR to lease more lands for natural gas drilling, DCNR has not received messages. At a recent meeting, State Forester Dan Devlin said that he was “surprised at the lack of feedback from the public”.
DCNR needs our support in opposing new leases.

Can’t get out fishing these winter months? The next best thing is to tie flies. Whether you are a beginner wanting to learn how to tie, or a veteran looking to hone new skills (or pass some skills on), come out to Allegheny Mountain Chapter’s Fly-tying Round Table. The roundtable will be held Tuesday evenings starting on January 17, 2012 at 6:30 pm. We’ll meet at the DuBois Area High School in the upper cafeteria.
